“Dangerous AI”

Lesson: I recently watched a YouTube baseball video of the Yankees head coach (Aaron Boone) talking about his team winning the game they just played.

I took a screen shot where Aaron Boone is quoted as saying “I tried my best to lose”.

--At first I was shocked that Aaron would say this.

-How could he say those things and keep his job?

--Then I got to thinking, it didn’t sound like something he would say (he may want to but would never say it) Then I looked at the channel. It was called “Dangerous AI”.

This article isn’t about the dangers of AI, though there are plenty. This is a reminder to live your life in such a way that if someone (even AI) said you did or said something negative, people would know instantly that that report wasn’t true or at the very least question the validity of it. Peter gives an important perspective on living life that helps this.

Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

I Peter 2:12

I’m sure there will always be accusations of Christians (perhaps against you) doing/saying negative things. The devil doesn’t like it. Regular people without Jesus don’t like it.

I want to encourage each of us to live such good lives, that if someone were to say we said something ungodly, or did something ungodly, or responded in some ungodly way, that people would say:

            a. That doesn’t sound like that person. I better check the source for the facts.

            b. Not-ooh… big surprise, that sounds like something you would do or say.

I know I don’t want someone jumping the gun to assume that what they heard was true, when what they heard is something that is different than my character. If I said something via AI, was quoted in the paper as saying, or just the local gossip got around that I behaved a certain way-I want people to question it, not act unsurprised.  In order for them to question what they are hearing, we have to consistent in living.

Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

I Peter 2:12
